Hey bud, look at my signature.. I ran 15.88 on my truck with all the mods listed BUT nelson tune, HD-2 shift kit, vette servo and t-stat... seriously, I noticed my truck runs WAAY better when I trew the thermostat like 2 weeks ago, after driving it for 5 months without it even that the tune had it on..
Can I put a 3000 stall on my truck even without a cam? I might do the cam swap but not ready yet..
    06' Silverado RCSB 5.3L 4wd..
PERFORMANCE: Cam, Springs, Pushrods, P&P heads & 3 angle valve job, Injectors, PS LT's & ORY, Nelson Tune, Catback, CAI, Comp Cam Double Timing Chain, HP Oil Pump, UD Pullies, ARP bolts, Stall, TBS, 4.10's, Iridium NGK's, G-80, 160 t-stat, HD-2 & Vette Servo, 46,000 tranny cooler, 75-125hp shot of funny Gas..

ohh.. forgot to say, when I ran my truck I had a FAST-FLASH programmer, but in economy mode, cause that piece of SH%T, didnt work at all.. I mean, it help a lot performace wise, but everytime that I tried to change the settings some kind of ERROR # came up in the screen and when I went to the track, I had it on economy mode..
What times should I be running now with those improvements? any guess?

You need to put the t-stat back in for complete combustion. The stock one is for emissions = higher cylinder temps yeild more complete combustion to a point.. anything to high will break down the 75% nitrogen your engine is breathing. Anything too low and you will not get max cylinder pressure, hence the reason most of us run a 160

You will be fine with a TB converter with your setup. the thing is depending on your cam selection you might want a higher stall.

A TB inline 6 converter will flash up to about 2400...maybe 2500 rpms. That stall can limit your choices for a cam. A 3000 stall will give you a better variety.

This is exactly the reason I recommend the Circle D reworked TB stall. He replaces all bearings, clutch linings etc.. It will stall out right around 3k with the proper amount of tourqe.STI on this converter is 2.2 I think, so it perfoms well in this price space. All this with a converter you can still tow with for 350 bux - Hard to beat!

Give Chris a call he will hook you up. Tell him I sent ya over.
The TB converter is not on his page, so you will have to call him.

Really its completely insane that you posted this in my thread. Because I was just about to ask if that would be a good TC for my truck...

    How hard is installation?

All you have to do is remove the transmission.
