I still dont like it. One of the main reasons is it would not be functional.
It coul be made functional. I would go with an actual; hood but they dont make as many for the gmc as they do it's chevy cousin. what do you think about this.[IMG][/IMG] also they are to dang high, for the price of a hood you could have a lot of performance upgrades

eBay Motors: 1999-2005 GMC Sierra/ 2000-2006 Yukon Cowl Hood (item 380005503358 end time Jul-08-08 22:44:04 PDT) If I had a Sierra, I would get this hood, or one like it. They look clean with a cowl hood.
Anything to help keep the engine cool is a good thing. A functional cowl hood not only looks good but they provide cooler air for the engine bay and some are "truly functional" feeding cooler air directly to the air intake. There is a shaker style hood like you have in your first post but it's functional. It forces air through channels in the hood and to the airbox (here is a link to one that was on PTnet a little while back similar to what you posted. It's fully functional).
And yes they do cost money which could be spent on performance stuff. And I'm with ya - I would spend the cash on go-fast stuff first unless you just have the cash to blow.
