What sockets does everyone use or prefer? My new SK's...

I had bought a set from Home Depot that were actually decent. Husky brand, black, etched sizes on the side, very easy to read. Except they wouldn't stay in the blasted case. Open the case and the sockets would be all over the place. I don't care how good they are or if they did have a lifetime warranty. So I took those back...

Took that money and went to Lowes and got a set of their Kobalt thru-ratchets & sockets. The Kobalt site shows them pretty well. The case feels very light when you pick it up, so the immediate thought is "cheap". But I like the set. The ratchets feel really good, they have a lifetime warranty, and the "through" feature is pretty cool. Oh and I also got a set of their metric ratchet wrenches.

My only complaint is that I like to use my cordless DeWalt drill with a 3/8" or 1/4" socket adapter sometimes instead of hand-ratcheting something off or on. Given the design of the sockets and extensions - I can't do that. And, you can't use standard extensions in conjunction with the Kobalt extensions if trying to reach hard-to-reach nuts or bolts. A couple of minor irritations. Other than that, I like them.

But I've also been eyeing some SK sets. They're also lifetime warranty. Other nice features are they grab the side of the bolt or nut, not the corners. They're a bit more pricey of course (but not overpriced IMO) and I haven't seen any 1/4" and 3/8" combination kits.

Anyway...post up what you like, what you use, what you would use if you could afford it, and why...
