So the new year is approaching and that means its time to get ready for the STS that I shall be getting from Jamest. I know for a fact my transmission with the 1-2 servo will not last me very long. I have right at 3 choices as far as transmissions go and would like peoples input as to which one I should go with and why. Anything will be a big help. Here is the mod list that I will be working with for the time being..

- 5.3
- stock internals (for the time being)
- STS gt-67
- meth
- intercooler
- it's going to be shortened up to right past the cab so basically no exhaust except for manifolds
- nelson SD tune
- eaton posi
- stock gears 3.42's (I want to be able to load up on boost)
- most likely e-fans

If everything holds up fine, I will be purchasing and installing the 220 cam (exactly like foggys cam), springs, rods, the whole nine yards.

3 choices are:
FLT 4l65e - I know it will bolt right behind the 5.3 with no customizing crossmembers, shortened driveshafts etc. I don't know if i will get close to pushing more than 500hp with stock internals and the sts, let alone the 220 cam and the sts. The only cons I see about this is price.

4l80e - Cheap and easy to find. Only would have to do a shift kit and some servos and would be good to go. My biggest concern with this transmission is the parasitic power loss that people have mentioned with putting this transmission behind a 5.3 that is only running small amounts of boost.

FLT lvl 3 4l80e - just bite the bullet and get this badass transmission. Price isnt too bad at 1950, plus I would never ever have to worry about it no matter what I did..
