traction control means it has the electronic throttle body, if i remember right. you'd need to work out the conversion to one or the other
00 FRC - just top end, exhaust, and a hot-air intake
    99 Sierra - 5.3 / 5spd

Ok, I'm not sure I know the differance between the two throttle bodys but I'll ask and make the changes if I need too.

I'm calling the wrecking yard tomorrow to tell them to start pulling the motor. I'll start a thread when I get it. it will be a month before I start putting it in. I still need to get engine mounts and all the other small stuff.

Thanks guys for your help. I really appreciate it

Zebra i have ALOT!!! i called Nelson perf. today and they they would make a completely new custom harness for $650!!! OR i could send them a cable harness and make it work with my 03 for $450!!! im on a tight budget!! i can do either but i would rather save that $$$ for some LT's and a cam, ive read that if u have a 03+ truck u need to make it dbw cuz thats what all the 03+ v8 trucks are.. someone tell me what i need to do!!! OMFG this has been covered in a few threads. Make it DBW it's so much easier to just replace the gas pedal.

Yeah mine's bare bones too, best thing to do is get everything and I mean everything under the hood from the V8 truck. I got my entire package which had 12000 miles on it for $1300. Got a new flywheel because my truck is a 5speed, removed some unnecessary wires from the harness (again, because of the 5speed) and converting to DBW. If you use parts from the same year truck as yours it makes life easy too. Mine's an 06, all the V8 stuff is 05. You could use 03-04 and it be the same. 05-07 Classic have some slight differences nothing major. But again less headache if use same year parts.

Correct me if Im wrong, I could also use a dbc motor in my 05, with a 02 computer and run a 05 harness. If I modded the harness to work with the dbc set up?

Do any of you swappers still have your '99-'06 4.3 exhaust manifolds laying around?

that boat anchor's been sitting outside at the shop for a year, so i doubt you'd want mine
