    Be sure to pull the water pump and crank pulley, when you pop it off the motor mounts turn the motor sideways and oyu should be fine.

    how much power steering fluid will i need and can i reuse the front main seal on the timing chain cover?

    old mod list: H/C/I/N/E/G 408
    new mod list: 5.3, gears/posi, mufler and tune : (

    Leave the PS hooked up disconnect the pump from the accessory bracket and lay it on the frame rail. If you do disconnect it I would say maybe a quart, been a while since I filled mine up. You can reuse the seal jsut be sure and center it up on the crank before tightening the bolts so the balancer doesnt FUBAR the seal. All other seals are reusable too I dont understand why people replace them. The t-chain cover gasket that is on my 418 is the one that came on my 5.3, that cover has been on and off atleast a dozen times and is still in perfect working order.
