Nice kill!

My previous vehicle was an 05 Cobalt SS/SC.

My best time w/ a K&N intake, motor mounts and slightly smaller pulley (3"..most people are running 2.8 or lower):

It was a fun little car, just couldn't go from rwd in my GT to fwd. I hate torque steer..lol.

Cool color, I thought they had equal halfshafts to eliminate that but I could be wrong. I was wondering if you could change the pulley out on those things, how much work is it to get 'em off ??? Are they pressed on or are they removable from the factory ??? And what's the fastest that you know of ??? I might be looking into getting one next year just to go back and forth to work and need something fun to drive...Zed

Well there is a the G85 package which includes a Quaife LSD and Recaro seats...but the dealership failed to ever mention it until after I had bought mine without the package (found out through the forums). But regardless of the LSD the car suffers massively from wheel hop. Not sure if it has equal half-shafts or not to be honest. But I do know that I had to get motor mounts, control arm bushings, and a transmission bushing to eliminate the majority of the wheel hop.

As far as the pulley goes, it is in fact press-on. You have to buy a special pulley puller tool to pull it off or take the blower off and use a machine press to pop the pulley off the snout. A three-jaw puller will not work, it'll just damage the pulley. Learned that the hard way. GM has two stage kits out for it, one is a tune and bigger injectors, stage 2 is a smaller pulley that's interchangeable (has a pulley hub that you use an allen wrench to take the pulley off) in addition to the tune and bigger injectors. Stage three is in the works and is going to be a factory PCM programmed to "delete" your AC unit and is tuned specifically for nitrous.

The car definitely has potential in the next few months. The quickest Cobalt SS/SC I know of is from INTENSE. They've hit 12.9's on slicks with a catback, HP Tuner custom tune, upgraded half shafts, 2.6" pulley, short throw shifter, and some wheel hop eliminating mods.

Cool...thanks for the info. Maybe they'll drop in the DFI 2.0 that makes 260HP when I'm ready to go test drive one in a year or so...Zed
