so i guess to reiterate my question im pretty sure the old 4.3 clutch is weak. so i need the nfw1050 sachs flywheels, the pilot bearing napa 6302-vsp43 and a 4.8 any year clutch and pressure plate and im good to go? in the kit i mentioned above is that throwout bearing going to work? also is that throwout bearing provided in that kitvthe same as the napa bearing or is it different? just dont wanna order the wrong stuff and gotta tear it back apart.
or is it better to use an mid 90s 5.7 clutch and pressure plate? ive read it grabs more on the flywheel? also starter wise is there any difference from the auto to manual starters? any specific year? or are they all the same?
I am doing a 6.0 swap as we speak with a NV4500,,, what I came up with is the sachs flywheel,, and that pilot bearing,, keep the stock clutch and throwout bearing from your truck..(or at least thats what I am going, it's supposed to work fine.... the sach flywheel will need the dowel pins removed and the bolts holes on the pressure plate slightly enlarged, you will need pressure plate bolts for the sachs flywheel and you will need flywheel bolts that are correct for the lsx crank
this combo has worked for other members as well...
I do not believe there is a difference in the starters... just as long as it's for your year engine
any idea where i can get the bolts?my 4.3s flywheel bolts arent gonna work? also the flexplate bolts from the previous auto trans wont work for the flywheel?
also isnt my 4.3 tbis clutch smaller than a v8s clutch?
also does anyone know of a strong posi axle that is bolt in on this truck?
I'm using the stock 4.3 clutch in my truck. Grabs plenty hard. I used the ARP flywheel bolts and pressure plate bolts.
Not sure of a strong bolt on posi. The stock g80 unit is garbage IMO. I rebuilt my stock rear end with an eaton truetrac and strange axles.
1995 rcsb c1500, 4/6 drop, 5.3 L33, 5spd, 219/228 112LSA cam, LS6 springs, 799 heads, long tubes, magnaflow mufflers
so literally just buy the pilot bearing and thats all? and its not your opinion its a fact! haha.
