You don't get out much do you? The LS motor guys have been hanging with and beating the BBC, BBF guys for years now... Go to Yellow Bullet Forums - Powered by vBulletin and lurk around. You will find that LS motors are winning some big races in different classes that have been ruled by BBs over the years... not any more

How quick are they running? We have 7 and 8 second rides cruising the streets around here with BBCs.

There's been a hand full reach high 6's, more than I can count running 7's... I would leave someone out. Hell, there's an LS based full size truck on this site that has the potential to run a 7 lol. How much power are those 7 and 8 sec. cars putting down?... chances are you can get as much power out of a turbo'd 370

Just to keep it on topic... to the OP... I don't think people want to spend the money on a LS based 454 and the cost it would take to get the potential out of that many cubes. Your talking about an expensive fuel system, transmission that could handle the power, and other parts that could handle the power. There's alot of factors that come into play that make you step back and say "do I need that much power for what I'm trying to do?''

Money doesn't matter in a street race, it's run what you brung and hope you brung enough.

What do I have other than an opinion? I didn't intend to go there, but my street car can outrun you with no power adder. Yes, it's a BBC with a carb.

I didn't mean to start a crap storm. I have two LS powered vehicles (one is a Z06). I really like the LS motors. But when I want to go quick I still do it behind a BBC with a carb.
