hey casey your guys like the 4.56s? thats what im wanting to put in my swb 2wd escky. im on 22'' and my tires 305-45 about 31 1/2 overall. ill be moving down from a 3.73. mostly curious about interstate driving and mileage increase/decrease after combineing the gears after the bigger wheels/tires. hopefully this not hijacking
    5.3 2wd upgrades: Nelson tune, stainless lt's, magnaflow, e-fans, msd's, cai.

    a) get a hi stall torque converter...

    b) the yukons/suburbans/some 1500HDs had 4.10s stock, but you're still going to have just a g80. Ron's gearshop can get you a true-trac and a set of gears for 600 to your door. Then you just need to have them installed. Most rears out of a boneyard are atleast 500 now a days for these trucks, so you're probably better off rebuilding yours.

If not search for the RPO codes. I used to have them memorized, but can't remember now. The stick is in the glovebox. Tells gear.
blown transmissions are about as useful as 97% of the guys on this forum

So what did you end up going with? I have a 06 5.3 CC Silverado with 22's. Its a turd off the line and i want to jump to 4.10 or 4.30.
