Thread: Color matched tail lights.

    They don't help as much as you'd think. I've got a 7 hi mod done (HIDs/brights/3 KCs) all come on when I pull the brights lever....still not bright enough (although I can see about a mile down the road and 30 feet off each side lol)
    blown transmissions are about as useful as 97% of the guys on this forum

    I would think a white truck would look better with led brake lights with a clear lense so you could see the chrome reflector behind the lense. I like the way white trucks look with chrome.

    Ive done it several times. Don't mix base with clear if its a metallic thats a no no.

    You probably know better than I do if your a paint and body guy. I just went off of what our painter said to use. When I find a way to post pics on here I will post a pic of mine.

    dont try to mask off the reverse lights tho.. makes a nasty tape edge in your finished product

    I wonder if that "Frog Tape" meant for house paint would be any better than masking tape?

    Nope. Use blue fine line to outline the reverse section, then regular masking tape on the inside, and after you get the color where you want it, put 3-5 coats of clear, but watch the flash times so it doesn't solvent pop, and sand and buff, and the line will barely be visible, if you do 5 coats of clear, you want even be able to feel the line if buffed out right.
