why dosent the pcm not play well? thats all you keep saying sleeper. what does it do and why wont the 02 engine, harness, and computer work in a 05?

the engine ( block & heads dont matter ) its the intake that'll make a difference, if you have a 99-02 then you want a v8 99-02 harness and computer, the engine doesnt matter but you'll need a v8 99-02 intake and throttle body, vice versa for a 03+ you'll need a v8 harness of your year model, if youre dbw then stay dbw, makes it easier, same as 99-02 if youre dbc then stay brive cable, basically you wanna keep the same year harness of the truck but using a v8

    i run a 05 engine in my rcsb thats a 01 model

on a side note the 02 computer seems to be a better choice in computers to use, then though i yet to find anything difference as performance thats whats said, i know the 99 models have 2 VE tables but i have written a 02 OS creating 1 VE table and it still performed perfectly

You have to keep in mind the DBC to DBW isn't the only wiring change between 02 and 03, you will have issues with guages not working, keyswitch not working and other misc gremlins. If you so want to keep DBC, use the newer harness and remove the DBW stuff. Me personally I think it's easier to swap gas pedals and add a TAC module. It's really up to you, but the 99-02 harness won't jive with the newer trucks

People that think DBW is the devil remind me of the people that think TBI is the greatest injection system ever.

No, your truck is a 2005, which means you should stay with a 2005 PCM. Which is DBW on a V8.

You can use the new dbw harness, simply use the existing wires going to the ETC, then repin them so that they are setup for a tps and iac, then repin accordingly on the pcm side.
we do this all the time for customers wanting the dbc.

Allen, just curios as i haven't done this, but I've read there is not a driver for the IAC motor in the 03+ PCM since they just open the TB more for idle control, except for one special PCM used in the 04 LS1 GTO (cus they are DBC) and some special use trucks. How to you handle the IAC motor?
