    also it helps if you have issues with auto-on headlights on startup. I have known of several when you fire the truck, one comes on, one doesn't, or even 'reduce engine power' because the initial shock messes with the computer. I used a Switch Smart relay, fixed all misfires and computer freak outs.

    Thats why you just hit the parking brake down like 2" before you start the truck. Then when youve got it started just release he brake and they both pop on. Works every time.

    I never said it wasn't just to keep them on with the highs, but not the only reason that they are used.

    that works as well, but I just spent $40 and never looked back. Then I can start the truck like normal and never worry if they will fire or not, and not mess with parking brake everytime. Also, remote start, makes it easy in case you never set emergency brake.

    The parking brake method does not work for the NBS trucks, I tried it but my lights still came on.

    You must have the key off before you atempt. Unlike obs trucks Where you could do it while driving.
