I dont have a type r sub, i got the shallower type s and and a 600 watt amp for 50 bucks on craigslist, in almost new condition. I figured i would build a box and see how it goes. The sub i have in my truck now has a staggered height which i figured i would have to do when i built the box because people do sit on the back seat. Im buying some mdf tomorrow so.... we'll see

I thought you had a type R because of your sig. I didn't say it was impossible, but without lifting the seat a type R wont fit. Now a type S will fit, because its only 5" deep. Good luck and take some pictures!

Whatever you build, be sure and put some carpet or vinyl on it. nothing looks worse than a box that isn't carpeted. I don't mean the carpet that goes in your house either(yes, I have seen it done). If you vinyl be sure and round off the edges(you will probably have to panel it).

    I know but still......
Unless you are competing all of the time, I don't think you aren't going to see that much of a difference. Besides, everyone knows that the best vehicles for SPL competition are suv's, hatchbacks, and vans.
