It looked real to me, but then again these days you can do anything with technology.
EDIT after looking at it, right after it hits his head, as he is falling he moves his hands back, as if to brake his fall. But they cut the camera to the judge. Either it was a real arrow, and it didnt kill him, it was a suction cup arrow, or it was all CPU gen.
