    Funky things can happen, I remember hearing some Cadillacs will pop the trunk, Ford's have a problem with the doors locking, effectively locking you out if you leave your keys in there.

    All of the stiff listed is when trying to start one. Yes, the 96-99 Deville will pop the trunk if the battery is low when you try to start it.

    Unless the plates are shorted in the battery everything should work as designed while running as long as the alternator is functioning as designed. The battery is only a "regulator" or "spike sponge" to the system. It's there to start the engine and watch DVD's when the engine is off.

    This actually is the crutch of my inquiry. If my LS engine starts, but only has a half charged battery that the engine is operating on, will the fuel pump output be compromised? Will the injectors open properly for full throttle operation? Does the computer recognize a lower battery state, and compromise engine throttle capabilities & performance, yet still allow it to run?
