New 20's New Problems
Hey guys I was wondering if anyone has had this problem or heard of it? I put some new rims I bought from a friend. Had them checked out and they are good to go not out of round and balanced. Now when I drive everything is smooth (i think, dont know if vibrations are from the road or from the wheels) when I hit the brake it feels like my truck is going to rattle apart. I happens at higher speeds slowing down gradualy from 50mph to 30mph. If it hit the brakes faster I feel a slight pulsation in the pedal and in the seat.
Took the truck back had em make sure it was balanced properly and they let me watch while they did it. Everything looked good but then still vibrating while braking. I figured ok rotors or some kind of clearance issue. I pulled em off checked everything and still... everything looks good, no rubbing I can see. I go to get the rotors checked out and the guy tells me (he never looks at the rotors) the offset isnt right for the truck he sees it all the time. I dont know what the offset is on a stock silverado?
The original wheels and tires.... 05 silverado 1500 CC 245/70R17 I think they are 7.5" wide I dont know the offset. The rims I put on are 20 x 8.5 +14mm offset with 275/45R20
What do you guys think? I dont know about offsets and backspacing?
