Compared to the truck we have now for our other DD that mpg is the same. Except the truck she drives now cant make distance trips or pull anything. Haha

IF bought I plan on doing all the small things that can help mpg, Tune, exhaust etc. (no I dont plan on making it a racing D. Just want the best it can get)
05 and up gets you into the 310hp and 600ft/lb motor over the older 300/520 setup

buddies dmax on 35's is getting like 27? highway, think he said he broke 32 once before lift.

And diesel is cheaper per gallon here.

But initial cost + maintenance = killer. Nice thing about towing with diesel, is gas mileage barely changes...with gas, it cuts in half lol

Actually you can get a decent 04 DMax as long as it's a 2 engine and not a 1. Don't get a 1! D is better and has a 6-speed auto but you're getting much more expensiverest. Most all of these will get about the same mileage up to around 5K trailers and it will trail off from there.

That is not possible. 17 and very unlikely but maybe 22. There's a multiplier wrong there somewhere.....

just did a google search for "chevy duramax gas mileage"

few forums, guys talking anywhere between 17 and 29 unloaded.

Intake/exhaust/tune. Which is all he has done. I'd allow for slight miscalculation from larger tires.

i'd call bs on anyone saying they get anymore than 25 mpg with a duramax, unless there figuring it out in canadian mpg il say what everyone else said one here, if you do alot of towing the dmax would be worth it. maintenance is 2x more than a gasser, i really wanted one (main reason was to blow smoke at everyone) but the cost of one steered me away especially when i never tow anything. i have an 01 1500hd gets about 18mpg with stock tires, got a best of 21 bringing it home. paid 5500 bucks for it, equivilant dmax would have been 15++

ive never driven it. Just going by what he says. This is the guy who used to brag about his 6-8 mpg in his 02hd on 38's. Can't see him exaggerating here, but I'll take your words for it...
