Is this the brand I see on eBay cheaper than all the brands? I always wondered what the quality looked like. $2000 doesn't sound bad if they are supportive as a company on mods and parts.

to be honest, i never made it far enough to get like dyno #'s or anything. i was just going to run it on my stock 4.8 until i got my new motor built. but, it should show atleast a 50% gain in HP on stock motor. i never really got to drive it for a while because i kept blowing the elbows, and etc. that make up the intake apart when i put th throttle down, so the day i went to my welder to get all the aluminum intake welded together so it wouldnt blow it apart anymore is when i got to drive it like 20 miles and blew the damn ring(s) out in my motor(oil was spewing out of my dipstick line), but when i got on for the first time, my truck came alive, and went sideways like its never done before with 3:23 non-posi rear end... now i cant really drive my truck. so it sits until the time comes to drive it onto a trailer to go to the shop.

Did you have an intercooler? Running a super or turbo charger with no boost gauge is dangerous. No intercooler is dangerous at that boost level. Was the engined tuned by a pro for the mods it has? Any idea what your intake temps were when your engine went south? An intercooler, tune and proper gauges. "boost, wideband, fuel pressure are absolute necessities for any forced induction setup. A 4.8 is cheap and can easily handle the boost level you mentioned above as long as you get it tuned correctly.

Are you sure your rings are gone. Did you remove pvc system and put breathers inplace of oil filler cap. Your engine might be ok unless you have done a compression/leak down test.

The truck was professionally tuned (mail order but my truck only has 2 mods from stock, with the only 2 mods) for the blower and 42# injectors. No im not sure that i blew the rings out, but im blowing oil out of the dipstick when i get on it (obviously getting some blow by) im not running a boost gauge because on my truck i cant get a good vaccum (my fuel pressure reg. is in the tank.), no i dot have a intercooler, no wideband air/fuel...

how can a "CHEAP" motor hand alot of boost?
