bandbang, I had the paint work and tailgate smoothing done at "Richard Wright's Chop Shop" in Lexington, SC. He mostly does totally custom work (lots of 50'-60's Chevy & Ford Trucks & 60's-70's Vettes, Camaros & Mustangs) but does some easy bodywork like this occassionally. He also builds custom motorcycles/choppers and goes to all the "Bike Weeks" (Myrtle Beach, Daytona, etc.) to debut them.
I probably will not drop the truck because if you notice I tried to make the truck look a lot like the current model Silverado's with all the Chrome on the front, matching colored bumper cover, wheels, etc. Also I tow a 3,200 lb. bass boat all over the state bass fishing most all year long. So the drop may hurt the ride quality when towing the real baby, my bass boat. If anything I would lift the truck 2/3 to look like the ride height of the new Silverado's.
truck looks great!!!!!!
man, looks good. nice ride.

How hard was it to fab up some brackets for the fogs? I'm about to do the same project on my Tahoe and am trying to figure out the best way to mount them.

Big Tap, I had some metal-fabicator clients of mine cut me two pieces of 4" x 6", 1/4" thick alluminum and used stainless steel bolts & nuts to attached the fog lights.
I first mounted the fog lights to the alluminum plate. Square the plate and the fog lights up on the flat surface of the fog light bracket. Then I held the fog lights with attached plate in the desired location and marked the plate though existing holes in the bottom of the bumper to mark where to drill holes in the plate.
I mounted the plate to the under-side of the original bumper through the existing holes in the bumper that the lower valence attached through. The plate is really just to move the fog lights back enough for the depth of the fog light holes in the SS bumper cover.
I hope this helps. I may have over explained.

Yeah, that makes sense. Thanks! I guess the thickness of the bracket helps you to not have to trim the holes at all?
The lights seem a little too large for the holes in the bumper. Did you just center them up in the holes in the bumper and not worry about the rest of the lense sitting behind the bumper? I hope that made sense.
