That's the hard part...unless you have a Denali, Escalade, or SSS....

    LOL

The AWD's are easier to take out and reinstall because without the lock that the 4WD's have, you can take the RH tube off in the truck and deal with the pumpkin alone....without messing with the giant ''stem''....

Its fairly easy to swap gears, I think it took longer to get the axle out of the truck than it took for the gears!

No prob. LOL... one thing to remember is the damn diff is semi heavy when you try and hold it in place while fighting to get the damn thing out. When I did this on my 99 2door tahoe. I had to remove the damn T bar, and lower A arm(cause some jackass had to put the bolt in backwards) anyhow holding the thing up while trying to get the bolt out just so the damn RHS of the diff could swing down and bite me in the ass. So if you can try and get a buddy to help hold it up, or use a jack! that would make life just a bit easier!

The good thing about a Denali (or an SSS or Escalade) is there is no locking mechanism on the RH axle tube....so you can remove the axle tube from the center section while in the truck and only drop the diff by itself. It can be reinstalled and resealed in the truck. We actually do the locking axles this way too but it takes some extra TransGel and patience to keep the washer in place.
