Mark, unless you personally know the truck and the driver of the truck the used converter is coming out of--don;t buy a used one. For your truck, I would go 3000 stall speed. I will back up Danny on the TCS 2800. I will also back up Greg and James on their PI and Yank comments. I am not knowledgeable on the Performabuilt stuff to make any comments yet. i have had a fuddle for a little over 2yrs and still running damn strong and taking off hard on the launch, but here lately he has screwed a few guys so i cant recommend him.... but it is a great converter....
i know alot of people running a Circle D converters and they all love them!
also the yank TT3000 would be a great choice for you and would put you right in your budget!
