Anything to help keep the engine cool is a good thing. A functional cowl hood not only looks good but they provide cooler air for the engine bay and some are "truly functional" feeding cooler air directly to the air intake. There is a shaker style hood like you have in your first post but it's functional. It forces air through channels in the hood and to the airbox (here is a link to one that was on PTnet a little while back similar to what you posted. It's fully functional).

And yes they do cost money which could be spent on performance stuff. And I'm with ya - I would spend the cash on go-fast stuff first unless you just have the cash to blow.

I dont know if it would fit but the only bumper I would put on a truck is the SSS bumper. IMO but good luck

If you want the SS bumper, your better off switching to a silverado front... It will look cleaner, and prolly cost less. IMO.

yes a body man could make that work on a sierra. theres a guy on pt.net that has a 2500 hd silverado hood on his sierra. just takes a decent body man to cut for the headlights and finish it off right...

yeah IMO, dont go with the scoop..ive got a 2 and 3/4 steel cowl hood on my 2000 and it looks slick. to me all those "toy box" scoops just dont fit the clean look of gm trucks.that stuff just depends on the truck..that bumper cover prolly wouldnt look that good on a lifted 4wd.
