is your stock hood red, and wouldn't it be a pain to strip all the paint of to repaint it the color of my truck. I will keep it in mind and see what the body shop has to say, they are all backed up so it may be a while.

no, you just sand it and primer it and then repaint it. You can sand it and primer it yourself.
