Really, please explain to me how my buddies dart heads made the exact same noise and when they were checked out the valve guide clearance was wrong, not to mention you werent there. Could it have been the alternator all along, possibly, I didnt hear the truck before I started working on it or saw if he got coolant or anything else on it while we did the cam swap. What are the chances of an alternator going bad at the same time you do a cam swap? I would really love to know how you can tell what the problem was without hearing it yourself. Even one of the local engine shops told him they thought it sounded like a bad valve guide. To me the noise doesnt sound the same as it did before but whatever you can diagnose things through the internet and word of mouth you should start up your own performance shop you will make millions, but then again you cant manage your money so that might not be such a good idea

Wait why do you say I cant manage my money? I own a new house in a very nice area. Own more than 2 vehicles and my bills are always paid. where do you get off saying that? If you want to discuss something call me 214-853-0490. Also and valve guide cant go bad as long as you know what you are doing when changing springs. and a noisy alt. doesnt mean its going bad it also could have been the coolant on the belt, or the rear bearing in the alternator could have been hit when you were changing the valve train out. And I didn't diagnose it over the internet I had a friend there that explained everything to me. He didn't say it was the alternator, of coarse he didn't have to. A novice mechanic could have determined it was the alternator. You always come off as you have an issue with me, If you in fact do please call me and we can discuss it.
