Ok, little boy. Take your seat and let the teacher explain a few things to ya...

The LM7 was an iron block that was introduced in 1999, and was the most widely used V8 motor for the 1/2 tons.
The LM4 was an aluminum block version of the LM7, and had a short production life. It should not be confused with the L33.
The L33 was an aluminum block version of the LM7, and was referred to as the Vortec 5300 HO. It was only available on extended cab 4WD pickup trucks.
The L59 was introduced in 2002, and was a Flexfuel version of the LM7.
The LH6 (aluminum block) with Active Fuel Management replaced the LM4 for 2005.
The LY5 (iron block) is the replacement for the LM7 Generation III engine.
The LMG (iron block) is the Flexfuel version of the LY5.
The LC9 (aluminum block) is the FlexFuel version of the LH6, and is found in 4WD models.
    Got it firgured out yet?
