Great email, or posting. But a little too simplistic for my liking.
I'm a little in different with the actual meaning of the above written I guess. I am not trying to offend anyone in the armed forces by any means through my thoughts or comments.
But first: The war in Iraq, and the wars listed seems like it would have greater effects on the world as a whole than the Iraq War. Although I wasn't present or alive through any of this, the stuff I have read has somewhat explained that; Vietnam was a big fuck up, Korea: dont know too much about that one, Iwo Jima had quite a bit of reasoning to be fighting there because of course Pearl Harbor and the Japanese, France of course the Nazi's, Gettysburg pretty unreasonable war because America was divided, Valley Forge, I cant remember what I was taught. and as far as Christ dying on the cross. The Church and state always have to be divided via the law. I am a Christian and believe in our Lord and Jesus, but you can't really even compare the war in Iraq and Jesus dying on a cross.
I stand behind our armed forces of course, but when I am not seeing any results with the progression of this war, and more deaths, it's harder to support the reasoning for staying in there. Not so much the troops, and America as a whole, but the decisions by the officials to stay in. If someone were to enlighten me, I would like that. Let's just not make this a bash fest.

DUCKY DUCKY DUCKY. So much to still learn.
This is my recommendation. Come down here and go to Blinn and take history and government from Wright and Denman. They will teach you alot and give you alot of insight on what is not taught in public schools and what is not put into most text books.
Comparing a war from the 1800 to a war in the 1940's and 1950's and then trying to compare those wars to those in the 90's and the present is just not possible. The style of fighting has changed from fighting face to face in a field to today's tactics of guerilla war fare. I would agree with most that this war seems to be dragging out and that it also does not seem to be accompishing anything. I DO NOT WANT US TO PULL OUT YET. I will happily trade places with a troop on the front lines if I had to. I stand not behind or in front but i stand beside our soldiers around the world. I have 2 good friends in the military. It would be a big mistake for us to pull out now. Yes Vietnam was a disaster but from what i have been able to research from the Vietnam war was that congress and the people here got impatient and we pulled out way to soon. Yes we were loosing men. If we have learned anything over our past wars is that we must finish what we start. The terrorist have learned our weakness and that is we are impatient we want instant gratification so they are dragging it out to make the people in the states push the government to pull out. Congress has pissed me off here latly by putting a ryder on the military funding bill to force bush to give a time frame on when we are pulling out. Congress hurt us in vietnam and they are trying to do it now. Yes Bush lied to us when we first entered the war but we must finish what we started. I know the goals have changed and we dont really know where we are headed but i know we can do it with the proper funding. Also you have to remember by us fighting over there keeps the terrorists from bringing it over to our soil. I also hate the media because it plays up the deaths that are occuring. We have lost less troops this war then all wars combined per day since WWII.
I want our troops to come back home but not at the cost of our freedom or our troops.
Ok i am off my soap box.
Thank you all for listening.
Also everyone remember this fact you cant really analyze history unless it is at least 30 years old.
We are just now able to really look at Vietnam since all the information is coming unclassified and coming to the surface.
I SUPPORT THE TROOPS AND I THANK THEM FOR SECURING MY FREEDOM.
I will gladly take the place of any soldier.
GOD BLESS AMERICA
