I was supposed to get a used one from Thunder Racing free but haven't heard anything yet, I would think a non working unit should be about $10 and a working one maybe about $50. I would prefer a non working because if I can modify it I will get a hypo unit from Mcleod and modify it. The 97 up vette is what I want to look at since the T/A and Camaro's are designed to mount on a sloping firewall.

    That console looks awsome!

I am doing the 4L60 to T56 swap behind my LM7. All I have right now is the T56. I need to get alot of parts, but I got the big one. I just need to find that damn wrecked 5 speed truck.

I was wondering if the vette was sloped but I take it its not haven't been under the hood of a vette. Anyways I'll let ya know something.

I think the Vette mounts on a vertical firewall just like the trucks and from what I have heard they twist to mount also like our trucks. One is all I need and it doesn't need to be in working order just as long as its all there. If I can make it work then I can make a Mcleod high performance unit work and that is what I want, it probably won' be much problem modifying one for you either.

Well, I have all the parts for my t-56 conversion except for the tranny itself and shifter. I have:

    Clutch pedal
    02 truck master cyl
    02 truck slave cyl
    02 fbody slave cyl
    bellhousing
    ls6 clutch, flywheel
    arp flywheel bolts
    gm pressure plate bolts

    A couple of questions:

What kind of hardware mounts the clutch pedal assymbly in? It has a hole in the top, and two on the firewall side, and my truck has a metal bracket on the firewall with 2 holes. I am planning on just using a few nuts and bolts, but I would like to use oem style hardware.

The truck slave doesn't appear to work with the t-56. The fbody slave is about 2 inchess smaller in diameter and the bolt holes are much closer together. Also, the truck slave has a smaller hole in the center of it for the input shaft. What year slave did you use Ron???

I don't want to have to rob the line off the truck slave to use the fbody if I don't have two b/c I paid 130 for it from the stealership and would like to return it.

I guess I still need to pick up the bolts to bolt the bellhousing to the tranny.

    Any ideas guys?

My Truck is an 01 model and the I used the slave out of that on my T56. I ordered an 02 F body slave thinking that might be better but they were the exact same part number. My T56 came out of a 2000 T/A so there may be some differences in the years of the transmissions as far as slaves are concerned.
