The fuel supply and return lines run from the fuel tank to the fuel rails. If you follow both lines to frame on the underside of the truck i think the sending line is on the top and the return is on the bottom. Im looking at a picture diagram and im not sure if the picture is the v6 model or the v8 model. Sorry if this is no help at all, i just traced the lines back to the fuel filter and just figured out which was which. Sorry if i am no help

If you go by any kind of carquest, napa or autozone they should have a Haynes book for your truck that basically does a complete break down of whats what. Its a really nice investment. Its like 15 bucks.

Should only have two fuel lines, like ducky said, feed on top & return on bottom. Do the other two connect to the fuel rails or just the intake?

I'm reading this thinking he doesn't have the truck, but just has the motor, ready for a swap? I could be wrong.

    Anyways, i'm no help either...

But this goes with the same topic, since i also have a 2000 5.3 outta a GMC 1500. And mine has 3 lines on it, all hard that run up to soft lines, then hook to the rails, and i think the othe ris return and vapor recovery? Should you use the stock charcoal canister with this setup for the vapor recovery line?

I am putting the motor in a 72 chevy pickup and there are 3 lines not four I know the 3/8ths line that goes to the top is the feed and the lower is the return but the third line runs up to the front of the intake by the throttle body

Thanks for clearing that up about the mystery fourth line. The third one is for your fuel vapor recovery system. Plugs in to a valve at the top in the intake manifold right behind the throttle body. Most people remove this line in their retrofit swaps......

    Look familiar?

The two blue lines are feed & return. The thin plastic line attached to the intake is also connected to the fuel rail (not shown).
