    LQ4 swap done!

Well Thanks to my dad and grandpa it took me saturday and part of sunday to get the swap done. The motor is a 2007 LQ4 w/ 48k miles stock internals and when we fired it up last night i had no oil pressure ( well 20lbs at 1800rpms ) well come to find out the o-ring on the bottom of the pickup tube in the pan was worn out, luckily my dad is on vacation spending time with my grandpa for 2 wks so i broght the o ring out to him on my lunch break and he called me bout an hr late and said at idle it had 40lbs of pressure.
    SO ALL IS GOOD NOW!!

That damn O-ring can scare the crap out of you. Mine did the same thing when we swapped in my engine.
So hows it run compared to the 4.8?

I found mine in the old pump after torquing down the cover and having the pulley half way seated. Removing the pulley tonight and putting on a new o-ring. I was so royally pissed (mainly at myself for being so careless) that I threw the old pump across the garage.

I'm talking about the o-ring on the oil pickup tube that goes into the pump. I swapped pumps while I was swapping cams...had everything back together and looked at the old pump and saw that the o-ring had come off the pickup, and was split in half, so now I have 2 options...drop pan enough to swing the pickup tube out of the pump and put on the new o-ring, or pull front cover and do the same thing.

I think dropping the oil pan is easier then getting the pulley off.
