    2007 5.3 to 6.0 engine conversion

Here's the deal... My 2007 5.3L is gutless and I am sick of being in the mountains, wind and towing a boat at 3000 plus all the time !! I want to get the most torque and efficiency I can, either out of my motor or a 6.0L Swap. I also want to stroke the 6.0 to a 383 or more. I already have a Garrett hybrid T3/T4 Turbo, 600hp intercooler, oil pump and wastegate. So either I want either use this in conjuction with a stroked low compression engine or I wanna supercharge it. I'm just fed up with the gutless motor I have ! Does anyone out there have any ideas ?

Maybe it was an accident or maybe I did it on purpose so that more eyes would see it. Therefor, I would get more advice. Does it bother you that I double posted ? Would it make you happy if I deleted a post for you...

Exactly how would more eyes see it lol? just cuz you increase the number of times you post it doesnt mean you increase the number of members on the site, hence, the same number of people see it. i never understood that mentality. The sarcasm in completely unnecessary. Allen and his crew have been working hard to keep the site as organized and as clean as possible. Just trying to help the site, but i guess its too much of us to ask of you.

just put a turbo on that 5.3 or put a S/C on it with a spec'd cam and youll be happy.

    i know someone with a spec'd cam, supercharger, LT/OR-y pipe, Truckshop dyno tune. 522rwhp through a 09 5.3/6spd stock stall/3:42s and 20" rims

These engines have peak torque around 4000rpm, so 3000 is pretty close to where the engine is strongest. These days 3000 really isn't all that high of a cruising rpm. Another consideration is the trans, if you build an engine like that the 4l60e will not take the force of a stroker with a blower, towing a boat.

If you're after just having low cruising rpms, and not downshifting find an 8.1L or a DuraMax with an Alison or a 4L80e. If not a 408 would probably be the next best option.

Thanks all and I have been doing a lot of research since I posted this thread and yes it is very apparent that I posted too many times. Sorry for being new ! Any how, I think the simplest, easiest and cheapest way for me to go is to just do a 454/7.4 engine, transmission and ECU...etc swap . I have a feeling that putting a super charger on an engine with 120,000 miles will most likely decrease engine life substantially and will require a new engine or rebuild adding even more to the cost. I have not done any research on finding all components from a salvage yard but I will do so tomorrow. I know that the 454/7.4, in 2007, is an option in work trucks and the Denali. Also, if needed, which I don't think it will be, I can upgrade the 454 to a 496 and be good. What are yall's thoughts ?

there was never a 454 in 07, also the 1990's 454 probably makes less power than that 5.3 and you would still have to do something about your transmission. 120,000 miles arnt that high for these engines my 6.0 saw 135,000 and i pulled it to make more power not because it broke. it really sounds like your best option is to trade the truck in on a duramax, or i guess a 408 could be an option but like stated before you will need a better trans that 60e wont cut it.
