Horny-A!

Not even sure if that's how you spell it or if there was even a 'correct' spelling. Not even sure why I'm posting this.

In grade school, my brother and I were in schools with mostly black kids. One of the games we got into playing was called Horny-A (spelling??? lol).

It was a pretty fun deal. Here's how it worked:

We had a large blacktop area, then a large field, then a chain link fence. We would get as many kids together as possible...usually around 20-30 kids. Everyone would line up on the blacktop in a row and someone would yell "go" and all the kids would race to the other side. The last one to the other side got sent to the middle of the field. Everyone else would line up in a row along the fence. The kid in the middle would yell "HORNY-A!!!!" and all of the kids would run full speed to the other side of the field. The kid in the middle had to try and tackle (read: trip, shove, clothesline, etc.) one (or sometimes more) kids. Once all the kids made it across, whoever he was able to knock down had to stay in the middle with him. Then they would all yell "HORNY-A!!!" and now you had 2 or 3 kids in the middle against 25 or so running across the field. They would again tackle as many as they could. So this kept going until we got down to the last few kids. The last run would be about 30 kids in the middle and two or three trying to get across. That huge gang of kids would all yell HOOORRRRNNNYYYYAAAAA!!!!" and the last couple would run for their lives. I was always one of the last couple to get tackled and I freakin loved that game. We played it pretty rough though and the school eventually prohibited it.

Anyway, not sure why we called it what we did but it was a freakin blast. You dads out there should pass it along to your kids. Might want to change the name and make sure no one gets a straight arm to the face though. lol
