    LQ9 or LS2 coil packs on a 5.3L ???

Anyone ever swapped the stronger LQ9 coil packs on to
    a boosted 5.3 for better spark ?

The LQ9 coil pack is a monster for spark, better than the LS1 or LS2 coilpack.

Wiring plug into the 5.3L coilpack does not look like the standard
LS2 plug that the LQ9 uses though.

Anyone tried ? Anyone make a swap coil pack harness ?
    Waste of time ?

thought lq9 and 5.3 coil packs were the same? maybe not? not sure of the ls2

i used my 5.3 coil packs without problems with a highly bolted and cammed lq9..

    Nope, different.
You can tell the LQ9 coil packs by the small metal heat sink they have
on top of the coil pack.

Did good bit of research when I installed LS1 coil packs on my Mustang
LQ9 is a much hotter and stronger spark then the other LS series packs.

Never could find any used for the stang project, but might keep looking if
worth it and easy for the Tahoe.

All the LS series coils are nice little units really. Simple wiring, built in igniters and good spark.
