4in single exhaust or riggin up duals???

Well I tried the search button but I count find what I was lookin for. I just put some pacesetter LTs on thurday night and im havin big problems with the rest of the piping. The truck came with true duals from the factory, so what I wanna know is how are you guys keeping the duals?

There is not an exhaust shop worth a sh*t for miles around here. Yesturday I had one in Tyler complete the piping for me, sounded great at the shop. But on the way home I noticed it had lots of low end, NO mid or top end and way too raspy. So I pulled into a gas station and got under the truck. MAN DID THEY F**K ME!!! I didnt even get KY . The bent pipes were soo crushed I dont even know how the truck can run. Its 2 1/2in pipe so I thought they wouldnt have a problem bending it but somehow they crushed it to less than 2in. But I guess anyone can bend pipe right?

Anyways Ill get to the point. I want enough flow for future mods. So is there any "midpipes" I could order to keep my duals. Or do I just need to by the ORY from pacesetter and cut the y to make a single 4in instead of 3in. Would single 4in even flow what I need for future mods. Its just an idea but you guys are my only hope.

    Thanks,
    Chris

4" is too big for what you have. I would get the ORY, have them run the exhaust from there back...

The only reason I say single 4" is cause it came with the factory duals. If im not mistakin they were about 2 1/2in" pipes. Just my thinkin but the ORY seems like it should y into a bigger pipe then the first two. Correct me if im wrong
Is that what youve got on your truck? Im working toward simular power so your truck would be a good refrence.

yeah there is no need for 4" you use the ORY and run a 3" all the way back to your muffler. And no it doesn't need to increase after the Headers. When its a 3" ory. Damnyankee runs manifolds i think since he's turboed
    Name: Mark,
God created turbo lag so nitrous trucks could have a chance.

Moze has a turbo, Your NA. I know obx has a dual after header pipe setup with their headers. If you plan on Nitrous, youll want a free flowing exhaust, but nothing that will kill the low end. If your plans are turbo... take the headers off and sell them, you'll make more power with stock manifolds. If you plan on NA, I Would suggest either a ORY setup, or a custom dual from a local shop. You should be able to get one for a reasonable price if you side exit. IMO

Well I am plannin on spray and a cam by mid next year. So 3in duals to 3in single dosent make since to me. I would think I would need more flow especially when it came with the 2 1/2duals. Im not doubting your guys knowlege I just dont understand how 3in single could be the way to go. What would equal close to 2 1/2in duals, 3 1/2in single?

    Thanks

Dual 3in or single 4in isn't really necessary until 500+hp Single 3" or Dual 2.5's is good until then as long as you run high flow cats headers and mufflers ur good.

you could always put cut outs on the end of the headers, then y it to a muffler.

Do you think 3 1/2in single would be too big? I wanna leave room for mods and I only wanna do it once. Been wasting too much money on it and the wife dont like it

    hmmmmm

I would say it wouldn't be toooooo big, but I like the cut outs with something clean better. Just try and keep it real clean.
