    Im Cammed...Finally

Well this weekend I headed to Tylers(txarkitek) with all the goods LPE GT2-3 cam/ comp 918's/ pushrods/ and transgo hd-2 shift kit.
Everything was going great until it came time to pull the crank pulley off...(words of advisement dont by the one from O'reilleys its a piece of crap and wont work). Since we coudnt get the crank pulley off we started on the shift kit...went well but was more indepth than we thought...we were putting everything back in the trans when we broke off a bolt in the second accumulator....AAAHHHHH....Tyler made a few calls and we decided to finish the next day.

Special thanks to Danny(sprayed99) for lending us his pulley puller(worked like a charm) and to Jerry ,dannys dad, for giving us a new bolt.

So on sunday we were full steam ahead, then the train came to a screeching halt when we dropped a bolt and it some how found the one hole that was exposed in the oil pan....(yes at that moment my butt puckered) luckily with us just loosening the pan and Tylers good fishing skills with a pen magnet we got it out...

Got it all back together, and she fired up on the first crank...Thanks to Tyler for helping me and showing me how to do a cam swap....

It drives good, shifts great, and will run better when i get the new tune on monday....

The one question I have is that I threw no codes...no service engine light...is it because its a smaller cam than most guys use?
Just wondering if it should have thrown a code...and no I didnt take it over 3000 rpm's on the way home.

And last thanks to everyone on the site who has posted good information on installations and parts they have used and parts they didnt like...

EAD Kurt...there were a few close calls, but I made it to the toilet! LMAO!

Yeah g--I tried the O'Reilly puller again--NO GO. That thing is THE biggest POS out there. Danny's pulley puller worked like a charm again! James--how long do you think it took--2 minutes??? Maybe 3? It was ridiculous that we fought with that thing for so long...

Yeah, guys--make sure you don't drop a bolt down between the oil pump and the pan. How it found its way down there--I have no clue...it was like a game of Plink-o from the Price is Right... RETARDED. And James, there was no "we" in breaking the bolt for the 2nd accumulator--I was the dumbass who broke the bolt. I already had everything bolted up and secure--but I wanted to make sure all the bolts were snug on the valve body and accumulator housing...and SNAP. Whoops...

But all went well overall..cam went in easy, valve springs checked out just fine, shift kit installed well, and the servo went quick. Except for the few hiccups, it was a good weekend. James' truck sounds better at idle and anywhere in the RPM range. The tranny shifts pretty smooth at light throttle, then it firms up the harder you push the gas--just as it should.

Yet another long, drawn-out weekend...but once again--it started first crank and everything was done 100% correct!

James--your truck should have thrown an ABS light from the gears. That's it. Since you didn't go super crazy on your cam size (and that we did the install correctly), you should not be throwing any other codes. You are well within the PCM parameters not to throw a code for anything.
