Im Cammed...Finally
Well this weekend I headed to Tylers(txarkitek) with all the goods LPE GT2-3 cam/ comp 918's/ pushrods/ and transgo hd-2 shift kit.
Everything was going great until it came time to pull the crank pulley off...(words of advisement dont by the one from O'reilleys its a piece of crap and wont work). Since we coudnt get the crank pulley off we started on the shift kit...went well but was more indepth than we thought...we were putting everything back in the trans when we broke off a bolt in the second accumulator....AAAHHHHH....Tyler made a few calls and we decided to finish the next day.
Special thanks to Danny(sprayed99) for lending us his pulley puller(worked like a charm) and to Jerry ,dannys dad, for giving us a new bolt.
So on sunday we were full steam ahead, then the train came to a screeching halt when we dropped a bolt and it some how found the one hole that was exposed in the oil pan....(yes at that moment my butt puckered) luckily with us just loosening the pan and Tylers good fishing skills with a pen magnet we got it out...
Got it all back together, and she fired up on the first crank...Thanks to Tyler for helping me and showing me how to do a cam swap....
It drives good, shifts great, and will run better when i get the new tune on monday....
The one question I have is that I threw no codes...no service engine light...is it because its a smaller cam than most guys use?
Just wondering if it should have thrown a code...and no I didnt take it over 3000 rpm's on the way home.
And last thanks to everyone on the site who has posted good information on installations and parts they have used and parts they didnt like...
