I DiD IT!! I'm taking the next step.

I couldnt stand when everyone would say why you building a N/A 4.8L its practically pointless get a 5.3L or 6.0L. Well, blah on yall... cause Guess what I'm joining the bandwagon now. lol, I finally bought one. I'm about to save up and try get some head work done after i send them off to be checked before I do anything else. I really need to start thinking about getting a FLT tranny soon to. Motor came out of a 03 Silverado SS with 86,000 for a lifter knock..

Damn....good call! It's always fun to have a 6.0L sitting around... Tear that biatch down and make it sparkle... Then rebuild it with only the best parts. That thing will haul some ass! And the cool thing is that the parts are interchangeable!

yeah, id like to do a 6.0 swap into my truck. Maybe someday. Im sure youll be happy with the power increase, and wonder why you ever spent a dime on the 4.8.

lol yeah, I'm glad i stuck with it and I've only been making smart choices basically buying performance parts that will bolt on over when the time is ready. Right now i'm trying to get my planning down.. I want at least 11.1 CR out of the sixy. and I might be thinking going to a 402ci all forged setup to handle a big shot of spray. I'm really not sure if i can keep the 317 stamped heads and push it to that CR without upgrading the pistons.. so this might be a full year build up in the making..

you can always throw on a set of 241 heads and it will bump the compression.

I didnt realized I got the 243 casting type heads that came off a 5.3L H.O. I was told those wont work on the lQ9. Is that right?
