CAI - Homemade or Cheapie Ebay unit..?

    I think it's ridiculous paying $200+ for a CAI like K&N or Volant...I just can't justify it.

So I'm wondering who has bought one off Ebay and how they worked for you. I know Virgil did...

Or who has made their own and where'd you get the parts (silicone couplers, etc.)...

OR who has tried a "T" style like for the vette with a double filter. Is it worth it? Any issues with the MAF sensor?

if you do it right and build something so you only pull in cold air it would be okay. i have a scanmaster and watched my temps with a cheapie ebay intake and they were worse than stock, because it was pulling hot air from the engine bay

just cut a hole in the bottom of your stock airbox and drop in a K&N. i usually run 1-2 degrees above what my rear view mirror says.

Probably depends on the schedule of pipe you're running. There's no way the thicker schedule is going to melt or stretch. The thinner stuff might.
