Do I have to get new lifters going from a stock cam to a .220/.220 .581/.581 115 lsa Comp? I already have the Patirot dual gold springs and titanium retainers and I plan on upgrading rods. Anything else that I may have missed??![]()

as long as you don't exceed the amount of press. a stock lifter can handle you'll be fine. i know the camaro guys get away with those cams all the time so why can't you. when you say rods do you mean pushrods?

Yep, new pushrods. I'm told that they are a must.

i know guys that got away with it in the f-bodies and vettes but i would never recommend it cause the new cam will spin the motor higher and faster so they are a good investment and a safe bet for a little extra money. how many miles are on your motor? that also determines if you need new lifters or not.

I've got about 63k on the motor.

you should be good, i say should be because we all know mechanical things can go out at any time even with out mods. but you going to love a cam especially with that turbo. is that cam meant for a turbo motor or is that just a off the shelf cam? just curious cause even the cam i have for my LT1 Z28 has a split profile and its for N/A or a small shot, but its a solid roller.

Pushrods and springs are what you'll want with the cam since you already have the reatiners. Your lifters are plenty fine for that lift. Alot of guys run the .220/.220-581/581 cam on 112 LSA and that might be what's hurting them. I think the 115 LSA would be better eventhough the cam I'm running now is a 228/ 232 588/575 - 113 and is a boost grind also.
