The good thing about a high reving engine is that that it extends your shift MPH points. If you can make the same amount of power and extend your shifts you reduce your ET simply by not having to change gears. Its tougher to find a camshaft with a really broad power band though and the springs will be hammered to death running 7000rpm+.
