Thread: Going to buy a new Truck.

    I'm Buying a New truck! But What do i Get?

    Hey guys. I'm in the market for a new truck now, and I'd like your guys opinions. Since my father is going to co-sign with me (unfortunately) he doesn't want me getting a fullsize chevy. My choices are:

    Nissan frontier king cab V6
    toyota tacoma prerunner extra cab V6
    chevy colorado extended cab with I-5

    Unforunately I need him as a co-signer if I want a new truck...which i do, and he doesn't want me to get a fullsize truck...which i kind of want/need. The nissan and toyota are more "midsized" than the colorado, but I don't know if i like them. Otherwise I'm looking at getting a used fullsize and my limit on my own is $10,000. just would like some opinions. THanks everybody. FYI I'm 23 years old and have a good job as a construction Foreman for a development company, and don't get everything I want from daddy, I just screwed up my credit while I was still in college.     dont get none of them lol specially if youre not gonna be happy with either of them... hell you can find great used 1/2 tons cheap... with v8s

    Hold off for a little while, the Colorados are supposed to be coming 2008 with an available V8.

    With no disrespect to RED, I think GM hasn't confirmed whether they will add the LY5 to the Colorado line up. From my understanding, the H3 Alpha IS getting the LY5, which would make it easy to have the 5.3 trickle down to the Colorado... The Colorado LLR I-5 is a decent small truck motor and there are multiple performance parts available. But have you heard the exhaust tone of an I-5? Try a 1978 church bus at 6000 rpm. Gross. I would pick the Colrado first, then the Toyota second, followed by the Nissan if you were to buy new. But there are nice used full sizers out there for ~$10k. You just need to take some time and look around...
    And I should also mention that a Dakota is available with the revamped 290 hp 4.7L...

    Well, thats the price you pay to live in San Diego and go to STDSU (san diego state) lol, and be on the beach.

    Anyways, update on the truck. I've convinced my dad to cosign on a fullsize chevy. It will be a single cab short bed 2007 NNBS, 4.8, LS. as of right now out the door I'm looking at 17,000.00 color is greystone metallic. What do you guys think?
