Where does the oil pickuptube go? Or where is it installed?

Do you know if I should go ahead and get a new thermostat, or is everything that you sent me, ready to assemble?
everything should be there ready for install. the injectors were perfectly clean when i took them off. it wouldnt hurt to soak them in some b12 or seafoam for a night before installing. the thermostat and waterpump that i gave you with the motor are BRAND NEW. theyve never been bolted up to a motor haha. theres a book called how to build a ls1/ls6 that helped me alot during my motor build up/install. lots of tq specs and detailed pictures. i got it for 15 bux and it was totally worth it. farmerbeau has one that he would probably let you borrow. he's in college station. your out there alot arent ya?

Hm thats wierd about the PM's. i got one from jeff yesterday..

where can I get this book at? I know the ls1/ls6 are somewhat similar as the 5.3's. But how much different is it going to be? I mean all I need to do is install the front accessories, the injectors, the intake manifold, the wiring, and actually get the motor in their.

oh then you probably dont need the book. i dont remember what all is apart on the motor cuz its been so long. im pretty sure you need a temp sensor for one of the heads. i took it off of that motor for my ls1 after i poured an entire bottle of antifreeze out the side of my head lmao. have someone with a 5.3 truck sitting to the side so you can look at how it all goes and you shouldnt have a problem. these motors just about put themselves together.

I made a spreadsheet on excel listing everything I needed along with the prices and stuff. Here is part of the list that included the parts you told me to get too. Look through it and say if it's a-ok.

    01 5.3L
    front accessory brackets
    motor mounts
    b&m tranny cooler

    PCM
    Oil Pickup Tube

    Plugs and Wires
    Wiring Harness
    Flywheel
    Timing Cover Gasket

    Oil Pan Gasket

Fuel Lines -2 EAR-165056ERL -6 - 5/16 AN to tubing connectors Male end
Fuel Lines -2 EAR-165006ERL -6 - 3/8 AN to tubing connectors Male end
2 RUS-658490 1 ft sections of pre assembled 5/16 Steel braided hose with female ends
    DMH electric cutout
    radiator - AC Hoses (upper/lower)

    radiator - Heater Hoses (upper/lower)
    Engine Temp Sensor
    Intake Tube

    Nelson 93 Tune

    Oil Pan Bolts

    Pacesetter LT & ORY

    Muffler

    Intake Manifold Bolt

Oh yeah how hard is it to assemble the thermostat? I have a Haynes manual from vatozone that has a complete tear down and rebuild of the 5.3's/4.3s for my year model. I think that might help too

I noticed in the Options section under User CP that there's a checkbox to receive msgs only from buddies on a buddy list. Leave that uncheck to receive msgs from everyone. Otherwise, it may restrict others from PM'ing ya.

I dunno if that's the issue, but something to suggest.
