Thread: custom whipple pulleys

I'm going to have some pulley's custom made for the whipple, and was just wondering if there would be any interest from the whipple guys on here. These will be 6 rib, ultra-grip pulleys from Reichard Racing. If you are interested, let me know, and we'll get the order started. The smallest that whipple makes is a 3.5" I plan on getting a 3" pulley, but I might be open to a couple other sizes. Who said boost is addictive?

I am interested but will smaller pulleys fit and what boost ranges are the. I have the stock whipple 3.75 at 5lbs 7 if It is cold outside. I still have the whipple electronics hooked up. I do not plan on keeping them though. I have 42lb injecters but I think I need a fuel pump upgrade before I put them on. I have got to finish hooking up the meth. All I lack is running the ground and power wires and filling the little tank.
I think I need to pin the crank before I get to carried away.

I wouldn't be getting them made if they didn't fit. This might be a little more than you're interested in. The stock pulley is bigger than 3.75" I think its 4-1/8" The 3.5" whipple pulley should make 12 psi. I only saw 10, but I had a non blower friendly cam that bled some off.

The stock pump is more than enough for the 42# injectors. I ran my 44# injectors at 120% IDC and the pump kept up just fine.

I'm considering a 3" pulley which would probably make around 16 psi on your setup. I wouldn't recommend doing this on a stock long block. I added some cubes and need to pulley down to compensate for it.

I didn't mean to sound like a dumb ass. I just did not know if you had an extended snout with a different pulley setup. I just looked at mine and it is a 4.5" Are you going to sell any of your other pulleys if you have any. I would be interest in any you have. I at the moment do not want to blow my engine and 8lbs is about the most I would try for. But if the price were right I would buy the pulleys just to hold on to them for later.
Thanks for the fuel pump info I will be putting those injecters on soon.
I hope your boost quest goes well.
I would love to know what a whipple and a stroker will do.
thanks

The pump will keep up better... It will have a bigger injector(nozzle) but it will cut the injector duty cycle down 30+ percent ... I installed my Hotwire kit and the 225 pump.. the fuel pressure still dropped !!! just like it did before I spent 300.00 and had the tank out 4 times !!!!! I kept thinking the problem was in the bucket or sump or something was wrong... I gave up and put a scanner on my truck .. 120 percent duty cycle and 25ms the reason why my fuel pressure was dropping was i had 10 wide open injectors ( 2 boost injectors) it was like having a wide open hose that could not keep up... bigger injectors will fix everything .. By making the IDC alot lower it helps the pump keep up and constant 58+psi ... Dont let the stock pump hold you back ! KC
