There's a salvage yard near me that has a complete 04 6.0 that he is asking $400 maybe I can get him down to $350. heres the problems its has been under water, the spark plugs are out so i am sure the cylinder walls has rust.....do you think it would be worth going through and how much do you think it would cost for a maching shop to clean it up and reassemble it. I not even sure if you can hone these engine without having to go bigger. Well yalls opinions would be greatly appreciated. sorry if this is vague but i am onsite at a service call and have to run.

Well I suppose if you could get a complete engine for $600 like the poster above it wouldn't make sense to buy one you that have to freshen up. If this engine is complete with accessories it is certainly worth $400, especially if you do your own teardown and assembly. If you are going to farm the work out and pay some one else to do it, this is probably not the deal for you..... unless you have someone you know and trust....

i can get it for $375... don't need the 317 heads, intake, brackets engine covers etc... so i could sell them and maybe get 40% to 60% of my money back..... i real lite hone, new bearings, rings and bolt on my 4.8 intake and assy and i should be good to go.

i wonder if my 243s head thats on my 4.8 which have been milled .035" would have a PtoV clearance issue and what would the CR be
