I'm thinking that I'd like to do the 6.0 but I found a REALLY good deal on a 5.3 w/ 52k miles that I get locally so I dunno! I'm thinking about doing the 5.3 for now and doing a 6.0 swap later on. I did find a 6.0 w/ 88k miles for $900 but I'd have to pay shipping from Maine.

I'm thinking that the 6.0 will be nnnnnasty in that truck of yours. But $$$ does mean a lot when it comes down to which motor you choose. The 6.0 has a lot more torque then the 5.3, but you have a RC, so you don't need that much torque. Even with 4.10's, Tru-Trac, and Cal-Tracs, you'd have serious traction issues with the 6.0. IMO, I would go for the 5.3. It's cheaper, local, and with less miles.

i dont know what the weight difference is between a 97 rcsb but the 5.3 liter in my 04 rcsb isnt very impressive. ive installed the lpe gt2-3 cam and have had 3 differnt tunes by allen nelson but i just dont think the cubes are there for fun perfomance. id go 6.0 for sure. save your $ and go with it. more cylinder head chocies also.
