    They are... But I think the engines in the GMT-900&#39;s are Gen IV&#39;s.

    But I always thought it was due, to the numerous head traumas I have suffered. Anyways, I was referring to the 4.8, 5.3, and 6.0 engines in the new trucks... I think they are classed as GEN IV.

    Gen 2 = LT1 & LT4
    Gen 3 = LS & LQ series V8&#39;s with 24-tooth crank reluctor
    Gen 4 = LS & LQ series V8&#39;s with 58-tooth crank reluctor

    Because it allows you to use a cheap bottom end in combination with the most advanced induction available. Think about it - readily available crank + cheap billet rods + off the shelf circle track pistons + ported L92 heads + Victor intake = cheap worldbeater. It&#39;s not a good idea for us PCM guys but for the carburated crowd this is one hell of an offering.

    I think its an awsome idea. Something for us TBI guys without doing a complete conversion.
