    hmmm advantages. huh?
all i can say is that my truck kicks ass with it off. never drops below 3500 when normal drivin, and soesnt fall much at WOT. also you dont get that hesitation after shifts.

I wouldnt take it completely out unless you have installed a transgo shift kit and some servos. if you have done all that then let her rip. the trans go fixes a couple of issues that gm did not pay attention to.

There are no advantages to it in the performance realm. I am a firm a believer that TM plays a large factor in the destruction of the 4L60Es by causing rediciulously slow shifts creating excessive heat...

Right on. Sounds like I don't want it at all. I'll start looking into a transgo shiftkit, servos, and a new torque convertor.
    Thanks.

Advantages: Nice, soft shifts, something a person with no performance in mind at all would like. Prolongs the life of the tranny, I disagree with this.

Disadvantages: Firm shifts, decreases the life of the tranny, performance oriented.

I was pretending to be a GM tech service droid, lol.

The only advantage is it will give you a nice soft shift. If you're thinking of putting TM in your trans with that truck you're building.... I'm just messing with you.
Giving you're a completely gear head, you'll want to beef the trans up a bit and get rid of TM.

TM is GMs "BandAid" fix for a LONG overdue revamp of the 4L60E.

Look I will be a GM tech droid too... "hey why spend the funding and research for an updated version when we can get the computer to make it shift so soft...the trans will be like having 200hp on a WOT shift?!"

Good question, I've been meaning to ask also. They are puting the 4l65e in the hummer h2 and the new c6 vette, so supposedly they are much stronger. Anybody got the facts?

How can you get rid of the TM,? Does anyone know if the Supeerchips tunner dissables it? The shifts are alot faster and firmer with the program on.
