I'm pulling out my stone stock 4.8 this weekend, and putting in a 6.0
It has 106K miles on it. It's never had a smokey exhaust, it's never burned any oil. The oil pressure is usually around 45-55 psi pressure. There are no leaks, it never drips in the driveway. It's as stock as it gets. I've driven the truck mostly on the freeway, and road trips from Houston to Harlingen, and Houston to Lubbock. It’s never been off-road, or at the track. Oil has been changed every 3,000 miles, a little after 30,000 it's always had Mobile 1.
It has all the covers; valley, heads, front and rear, oil pan

If there's someone with a V6, and wants a V8, this is a great start. All you need is a crank from a 5.3, 5.7, or a 6.0.
