Freakin sucks.

As a little refresher, I went to Allens a few weeks back to get a tune. Found out the fuel pump was crapping out on me. Prior to that, I had run a best of 14.87. That with the torque converter that was also crapping out and the Futral 218/228 cam.

Since replacing the fuel pump, I've swapped the Futral cam for a Comp 216/220, added the ported throttle body, and the homemade intake.

So it's a really cool night, and I head to Ennis hoping for low 14's. Totally makes sense right? Best of 14.87 with not the best or fully functional parts - seems like with the new stuff I should be kicking low 14's, high 13's in the butt.

Here's my times:

15.280 @ 90.60
16.008 @ 86.88
16.033 @ 86.87
16.235 @ 86.37
16.587 @ 84.77
16.498 @ 84.41

Notice the pattern??? Worse every run. I tried the first few runs in 2wd, tire pressure at 20 psi. Since it was getting worse, I figured I'd try a 4wd launch. Worse time - back to 2wd. Worse yet.

The truck is still doing the "bogging" thing at WOT. Get on it and it pulls hard, and then all of the sudden it will lag so bad it feels like you're on the brakes. Then all the sudden it will "Catch" and start pulling again. Then lag. Then pull. Then lag....you get the idea...

I don't know if this is a tuning thing or what, but I'm about ready to piss in the windshield fluid reservoir, crap in the gas tank, puke in the radiator, throw some sand down the dipstick, paint it with gasoline, and throw a match on it.

Somethings going on and I guess it means another 5 hour drive to Allens and another day off work. Not cool. Not happy.

I dunno that sucks man! My first run is usualy my best one for some reason, But I never have a 1.3 second diff with out knowing right off the bat I fucked up the launch or somthing.

I have never been a fan of split duration cams for N/A in a LS1 based engine, But I had a similair issue, Stil have with a friends truck and seen it on a few others with no fix besides going open loop. There issue was the truck would switch between open and closed loop at WOT. Not that I could feel it like you say... But could see it in the datastreamand,ET I replaced the PCM, MAF, Map, 02's etc... Sometimes it would stay in CL the whole run, Somtimes not or a mix of bolth... Do you anyway to log or at leat a wideband?

No, no way to log it. I guess I could check with Donn at Prostreet or Billy at TRT and see if they have a way. I'm wondering if it's just getting too much air with the piping and ported throttle body. I might need to make a trip to Allen's.

Might be a solo trip. The wifey just booked a flight to San Anotnio to see her sister, so I doubt she'd drive down anytime soon.

I may do that. I know you guys are tuning now, but I think Allen locks the PCM's (?). Unless you have a different PCM we could throw in it...
