Going to do oil change. Thinking of going with the mobile 1. Is it worth the price? I do an oil change a month do to my job. I drive 3000 miles a month. Will this oil last longer or go farther than 3000 miles. And which grade 5w-30 or 10w-30 or different one??? OR is there a better oil than Mobile 1??

I had read an article recently on the internet. The guy said that there probably isn't any difference in the different manufacturers of oil, as far as which on is better. But did say that you should try and stay with the same brand as much as possible, due to diff manf using diff additives in there oil. He didn't say there is really any research to prove this, but recommended it because the diff additives may not work well with each other.

My father in law and I use Quaker State and it seems to be working well for us, they seem to have good prices too.

I use Royal Purple 10W-30, and have for the past two years that i have owned my truck. I change the oil every 6,000 miles and the oil filter(K&N) every 3,000. this is the suggested intervals from Royal Purple them selves. I have not had a lick of problems out of it yet. Motor runs just as good as the day i bought it.

Why is it that in the old day they would let you change your oil ever 5,000 miles and run leaded gas? Is it because of more 4 bangers that rev higher? I use mobile1 5-30 and change it 3,000-3,500. I heard the same thing as Rchevy about use the same brand.

Depends on if you are going mineral or synthetic. I run the M1 Synthetic and can go up to 5000 miles without it getting real dark. I normally change it every 3300-4000 though. I normally run the 5-30 but in the extreme summer months I step up to the 10-30.

pick one and stick with it. I will put my vote towards Mobil1 though. I always used it on my '98 since I bought it new and when I put the cam in at about 80k the lifter valley was clean and the lifters came out with no problems. No coking or residue. I use it in my truck.

I only use Royal Purple. You can go 6,000 miles in between, and in gmhightechperformance magazine-It put 5 horsepower at the wheels on the LS1 Engine. Trust me. More power, torque, better gas mileage and better protection. I've been sold on it since the day I tried it.
