You can't. The truck I'm talking about is my 2003 Silverado Z71. It has the 5.3 V8 with 3.73's. I can put it in 2wd, 4wd, or Autotrac-which is similar to Awd.

Tbyrne told me 30 hp without tuning. I don't know if that's at the wheels or flywheel. When I get mine put in, I'll let you know what I think. I'll try to have it dynoed before and after.

Sorry, your sig says Silverado SS 03, I assumed you had an 03 SS. My bad. I have an 03 SS and was wondering if there is switch somewhere I was missing. It is possible you know.
Good luck on the hotCAM. I'm interested. MTI has some CAMs they say make a ton of torque and add considerable HP from 1500-6500RPM. Only need springs, but they recommend new titanium rods as well. They say the secret is really high lift. www.motorsporttech.com
I don't know enough about CAM shafts to know what to think.

2003 Victory Red Silverado SS
14.64 @ 91.78 on a 2.16 60' time even with my big frame driving! (5445lbs)
MODS:
Nelson Performance Tuned / TransGo shift Kit w/ Corvette Servos / ASP Under Drive Pulleys / Flex-Lite E-Fans / FlowMaster HD Trucker / Thermo-Tec wrapped manifolds to X-pipe / 1.5" dropped using Belltech 6400 kit & 6.5 turns on torsion bars / Tinted Windows / Victory Red Spray in Bedliner / Drk Walnut Wood (steering wheel, console, and door inserts.)
MTI has a good name. I'm choosing the hotcam because I want the power to start lower. With the hotcam, I believe the power starts at around 800 rpm and goes to 5800. It's a good everyday driver cam. I don't wanna put too much right away. It's also a good price. If you don't mind waiting for the power to kick in later, and don't mind going to 6500 rpm,and the rough idle, I think your on the right track for a cam pick. Let us know what you choose and how it goes.

That sounds like a nice combo for 14's.Originally posted by SilveradoSS03@Dec 25 2003, 10:47 PM
Tbyrne has the hotcam kit with springs and retainers for $450. I was gonna do the hotcam, 2600 stall converter, and Nelson Tuning. I was hoping that the three together could get me close to a second off my quarter mile. I've heard some bad things about the e-fans, the only headers I'll go with are the long tubes with y-pipe and hi flo cats-and those are $1200! I also heard that I shouldn't bother with the servo and shift kit if I'm gonna have Nelson tune my shifts. I have taylor 10.4 mm wires, but I need plugs. I would like Denso Iridiums. If I run into traction problems, I'll use 4WD. Anyway, have you guys heard of the same things I've mentioned here? Thanks again
On the trans, I can get the tranny shifting really nice, 100% better than stock, but the shift kit will really help out. If you're thinking of nice firm shifts, I recommend one shim, that'll be a nice daily driver.
Let me know if I can help out,
thanks,
allen

Would you be willing to do the install when I come down to get the tune? Maybe you can hook me up with the shift kit/servo combo?![]()
